“Beloved community is formed not by the eradication of difference, but by its affirmation, by each of us claiming the identities and cultural legacies that shape who we are and how we live in the world.”

Upcoming Workshop!
June 15: Intro to Theatre of the Oppressed
Location: Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Tap into the wisdom of the body! The language of movement, physical expression, gesture, and image theatre have the power to bridge our internal and external worlds, amplifying intention and presence in the practice of Theatre of the Oppressed (TO) – the people’s theatre. Originating in Brazil in the seventies, the modalities continue to be full of possibility for promoting introspection and social change. As founder Augusto Boal said, “Theatre is a form of knowledge; it should and can also be a means of transforming society. Theatre can help us build our future…” We will begin with a brief history and introduction to TO, and then ignite our imaginations, playing with the magical and the mundane, exploring a range of techniques using aesthetic space, games, image work, improvisation, movement, and storytelling.

Justice and equity, conflict and community, creativity and innovation—all ask us to bring our imaginations to the forefront.
Rachael works with the transformative power of the arts and dialogue to support and sustain healthy relationships, organizations, and communities.

Thank you. I love leaving a training with my mind blown and hungry for more knowledge.”
